Root Cause and Impact Analysis

A central task of powerful business service monitoring is to troubleshoot errors and to easily recognize impacts of errors. LeuTek provide suitable analysis tools that include both root-cause and impact analysis.

In case of an error or outage, you can use root-cause analysis to exactly trace what object of the underlying service structure has caused the error. The path of the root-cause analysis is highlighted so that the faulty component is easier to be detected.

Impact analysis illustrates service dependencies and displays the subservices and top-level services affected by a component failure. To support administrative tasks, structural impact analysis shows any relation between the individual objects. In connection with the current object statuses, you can immediately determine any effects on subservices and top-level services.

In the future, the simulation feature of the impact analysis can be used to identify potential effects on superior services in case of failures or changes. The advantage is that any effects on existing service level agreements can be recognized in advance and can be considered.

Both root-cause and impact analysis are available in the display tools ZIS Service Explorer and ZIS Service Viewer.
